Keeping You Connected

Welcome to our Lancashire Mind Newsletter!

In our April edition you'll find: the latest news; details about practising mindfulness, with an example activity; details of our Mental Health Awareness Week campaign; and a story about Barbara who has flourished in confidence both socially and financially after support from us.

This quarter, we are delighted to announce that we have launched our new strategy, which outlines the direction of our work over the next five years. We have spoken with hundreds of people across Lancashire to gain their views about mental health, and to inform and shape our strategy.

"People are at the front and centre of what we do, so it's vitally important we listen to and work with them to develop our service offering. We've listened to what they need and require, and not assumed we know what's needed.” CEO Tommy McIlravey. Find out more about the new strategy by clicking here.

Best wishes,

The Lancashire Mind Team

Barbara's story

Barbara had lost her Mother and experienced a marriage break-up. Aside from the emotional impacts, this left her with significantly reduced income, however her mental health meant she was unable to work. Through our Money & Me coaching sessions, Rachael at Lancashire Mind worked with Barbara on both financial and social goals. Barbara went from not feeling like she fitted in to joining a community, being asked to volunteer, exhibiting her artwork and engaging more positively when dealing with challenging financial conversations.
